July 9, 2000 - Steve Hoovler

I floated today with my good friends Rick Hightower and George Sidgwick . We headed from Lyons to Ruby, and fished dries from ramp to ramp. The bite was on and off throughout the day, but we saw a variety of flies from golden stones to caddis and pmd's all produce fish. The morning started off on the cool side with temps in the 40's, though neither the fish nor the bugs seemed to mind. We found quite a few fish right out of the gate eating caddis and pmd's. The sun slowly warmed things up, and we switched to a golden stone with a variety of small droppers like an x-caddis and a pmd cripple. Some of our most consistent action and largest fish came later in the day from Pallisades down. Thanks for another great day guys. I'll look forward to next year.
