It's the glory days of summer in Yellowstone Country, and the Madison continues to be the highlight of our fishing. The weather is warm, and fish are looking for dry flies from Quake Lake to Three Forks.
I've been on the river every day, and had some great fishing with terrific folks. Paul, Max, Gus, and Paulanna all joined Justin and I yesterday for a float. At 9:00 am no one had every touched a trout before let alone a fly rod, and by that afternoon everyone was casting like champs and got to handle a pile of fish. Way to go, gang. Thanks for a great day!
Today I floated with John and Johnny, the Grandfather and grandson fly fishing duo. We fished nymphs most of the day, and had consistent action on a variety of flies like rubberlegs, prince nymphs, and $3 dips. We took out at Ruby just in time to raise a couple of last fish to a stimulator and miss a monster thunderstorm. Thanks, fellas. I'll look forward to next time.
